As reported on Joystiq, it looks like that entire game’s worth of removed content might be making it into Final Fantasy XIII after all. GameStop has posted the box art for the Xbox 360 version of the game and, more importantly, it has also posted the art for the back of the box. As you can see above, the box mentions that Final Fantasy XIII will support downloadable content after all, though there is no mention of what the DLC actually is. It’s worth noting that the content could be something as simple as Avatar outfits or accessories, though it would certainly make sense for Square Enix to supply its most well-known franchise with post-launch DLC.

iPhone gaming website AppGamer.net has revealed that Media.Vision has a job posting up on their website as they search for people to work on a new, original RPG for the iPhone / iPod touch platform. Unfortunately, the only other details known at this time are that Square Enix is handling publishing duties for the title, and that it’s due out this year. Chances are this will also be ported to the Apple iPad, due to it’s decent screen size.

It turns out there once were many more labyrinthine paths and dungeons in Final Fantasy XIII, but they got cut. An interview (in Japanese) over at FF-Reunion with art director Isamu Kamikokuryou has him saying that the team removed enough extra locations from the title to make up a whole other game entirely.

Yeah, yeah. I know it’s late, but here is Metacritc’s Best of 2009.
I’m not posting this as a ‘filler’ post so I can go get drunk, play guitar hero and swim at my work mates pool. No.. not at all.
On a side note, I don’t agree with all of these, there must have been worse games for the PC, and the Wii, etc. I might do a hunt & find some examples.

Atlus USA recently opened up the official English website for the most recent installment of the popular Shin Megami Tensei RPG series, Strange Journey for the Nintendo DS. In a change from what is usually a Japanese setting, a large black spot is starting to appear above Antarctica, and a group called the Strike Team is sent to investigate. Of course, there they are met with demons and all other kinds of strange things happening. The website, linked below, has all sorts of information on the game’s story, system, characters as well as some downloads.

So before Christmas the server owners upgraded their servers, causing the site to crash. Bassman emailed the server owners, and the problem was fixed in a few days. Though the site only went back online recently because, (1) I was away for Xmas in New Zealand. And, (2) the crash screwed with the old skin, so I had to hurry this one to live mode. It’s still needs a few tweaks, but mostly is complete.
News updates will resume shortly. Stay tuned.
